Dear god man, this is AMAZING! Real change from all of your previous works, I can hardly believe what you have done here.
The anatomy is 200% spot on for this piece, I can clearly see the way Jack ... sorry; Captain Jack is holding his cutlass. Davy Jones' tentacles are also clear to the eye and his face to, which I must say from personal drawings, is super hard to draw from that angle!
The mood is set just right for this piece as it truly captures the relationships between characters and what the movie itself represents. The sky is beautifully done, and the waves must be my favorite part of this in a whole. It appears to the eye they are being sucked into the whirlpool, while in the middle of a heated fight. There is just so much the sea and sky tells you, without looking at the main focus of the image.
The rigging of the ship is exactly the same as in the film too. I went through and paused it at a certain points to compare this and wow. I seriously can't believe this is drawn.
So now the reasons for my scores. Vision is a four due to the fact that something behind Davy Jones is bugging me, I can't seem to tell what it is. And Jones' sword seems a little transparent against Jack's coat. Originality because it is well... fanart! But I still absolutely LOVE it!
Keep working hard and good luck with future works. I can't wait for more!
That is beautifull! (And I can't believe it only took 6-7 hours! Pretty damn fast for a painting THAT detailed! )
I've been watching your Work in Progress images, and I STILL can't believe how well it's done!
Beautifull shading, detail -absolutely amazing!- highlights, and even to the point of the focus/unfocus of the raindrops AND direction of the wind and sun coming through the clouds/rain!!
Completely astounding in every way!
I thouroghly envy your talent in detail, the simple fact that you can draw humans AND fantasy characters so well, and detailed, not to mention you do them all CORRECTLY!
